Whenever I have overnight houseguests coming I do the usual things to prepare: clean sheets, fresh towels, etc. But I like to take it one step further by preparing a basket of guest bedroom supplies to have waiting for them in the guest bedroom.
You don’t want guests wandering through your house at night hoping to find a drink of water, or worse yet, not brushing their teeth! So if you anticipate what they may need and put together a basket of travel sized supplies then they will not only feel welcomed, but also have a great time staying with you.
Here is a list of things to consider having in the guest bedroom supplies basket (there is a printable version at the end of this list):
Snacks
Bottled water
Cookies
Crackers
Chocolate
Wine (like the little bottles that come with their own plastic glass attached)
Breath mints
Jerky
Kale chips (if you don’t like the person especially)
Toiletries
Linen water
Tissues
Lip balm
Shave cream
Razors
Antibacterial gel
Deodorant
Hairspray
Handcream
Mouthwash
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Floss
Antibacterial wipes
Makeup remover toilettes
Extras
Bathrobe (I keep one for a man and one for a woman on hand, I wash and reuse these)
Slippers (I get them at the dollar store and let the guests take them home)
Guest book (I love having guests write something, such a great souvenir for me)
Flameless candle (to adjust darkness of the room)
